It’s often the smallest things that carry the biggest meaning, and at RAW, we’ve been gifted something small, soft, and incredibly powerful.

Through the kindness of Merrilyn, RAW has received 500 handmade felt hearts from the 1000 Hearts project, a global movement that started in Tasmania to spread compassion, comfort and connection.

To bring these hearts to life, Merrilyn partnered with the Margate Stitch & Share Group, a wonderful group of makers who meet weekly at the Channel Men’s Shed in Margate. With care, creativity and community spirit, they hand-stitched each and every heart.

These hearts are given with the intention of helping people feel loved and valued. For us at RAW, they will be shared with people in moments of reflection, resilience, or quiet need — a tactile reminder that someone cares.
