The Stay Afloat program was originally created by Seafood Industry Tasmania and now runs in Tasmania in partnership with Rural Alive & Well.

The Stay Afloat program delivers a holistic, multilayered approach, involving education, awareness and practical support that is tailored to the unique situational stressors experienced by individuals working or operating within the Tasmanian seafood sector.

By partnering with RAW, the Tasmanian Stay Afloat program is able to deliver one-on-one support to people across the industry. The support specifically addresses and helps individuals work through unique situational stressors and challenges associated with the seafood industry.

Dedicated RAW outreach workers, provide genuine and authentic support. It doesn't matter whether it's in the slip yard, wharf, on the boat, in the hatchery, factory or lab, conversations happen wherever you are most comfortable.

The program centres around providing the industry with one-on-one support to individuals in their own environment, whilst also delivering education and awareness activities to increase protective factors and reduce the risk of suicide.

RAW specialises in delivering proactive outreach and face to face support that addresses situational stressors and increases protective factors, to minimise the risk of suicide. RAW is ‘non-clinical’, genuine and non-intrusive. The service is confidential with no fees for participants.
