Rural Alive and Well (RAW) welcomes the Tasmanian Government’s continued support
through the release of the 2024-25 Budget.
Rural Alive & Well (RAW) is pleased to announce that the organisation has received additional funding as part of the Tasmanian State Government’s 2024-25 Budget. This funding, which was an election commitment, is crucial in helping RAW continue its vital work in supporting mental health and suicide prevention across rural and remote communities.
CEO Lee Whiteley expressed the organisation’s gratitude for the government’s support, stating,
“While this funding was an election commitment, we want to reiterate how important it is in
supporting our work to reduce the prevalence of suicide in Tasmania, and we thank the
government for honouring this commitment.”
RAW’s mission to deliver early intervention suicide prevention services remains central to its
work, reaching hundreds of Tasmanians every month. With the ongoing support of the
Tasmanian Government, along with corporate and community partners, RAW is better equipped
to continue providing genuine and authentic assistance to those in need.
"The continuity of funding ensures that RAW can remain at the forefront of suicide prevention
efforts, directly supporting individuals, families, and communities throughout Tasmania. This
support improves and saves lives,” Mr Whiteley added.
RAW extends its heartfelt thanks to the Tasmanian Government, alongside the corporate and
community sectors, for their continued trust and investment in RAW’s vision. Together, we are
building stronger, more resilient communities
