Kristy is an experienced mental health professional with over 17 years of dedicated service in the sector. She currently serves as Outreach Manager at Rural Alive & Well, where she leads initiatives focused on improving access to support for individuals and communities experiencing mental health challenges.
Prior to her work in mental health, Kristy built a strong foundation across aged care and disability services, including significant experience working alongside Aboriginal communities. This has informed her culturally responsive, inclusive, and person-centred approach to care.
Kristy is deeply committed to supporting individuals impacted by isolation and situational stressors and is a strong advocate for a “no wrong door” approach, ensuring people can access the support they need without barriers. Her professional practice is further strengthened by her lived experience supporting those affected by mental illness and bereavement following suicide, which brings authenticity, empathy, and insight to her work.
A passionate advocate for rural and regional communities, Kristy is dedicated to helping these communities thrive through improved access to meaningful and timely support services. She resides in the Central Highlands and values the resilience, connection, and strength that define regional living.
Outside of her professional role, Kristy has a strong interest in sport, particularly football, netball, and cricket. She has proudly represented Tasmania in Masters AFL and enjoys supporting her four sons as they share her passion for sport.
