About Kristy

Kristy is our Outreach Manager. Kristy has worked in the Aged Care and disability industries and is trained in Mental Health First Aid, CORES. Kristy has grown up in a few different communities over Tasmania, starting life in the city then moving to the Derwent Valley then settling in the Central Highlands.

Kristy enjoys camping, playing netball and loves watching her four sons play cricket and football. Kristy's aspiration for RAW, is the hope that we can be funded to support all areas of Tasmania with a focus on supporting children living in rural areas.

Kristy enjoys working for RAW because it allows her to reach out and support those whom are finding life tough. She enjoys being able to connect people to their communities and enriching their lives with practical support to be able to make positive choices to improve their mental health. She enjoys working in rural communities as those on the land provide such valuable resources for all of us, and she feels that being able to see and experience their journey is a privilege.

Kristy has personally seen a lot of friends and family experience mental health issues, and living in a rural town, has witnessed a lack of mental health support, which has made her eager to learn and share her experiences and knowledge to those who may need it. Kristy has been with RAW for many years, has seen the organisation grown, and how valuable our team is to Tasmania's rural communities. She is proud to be working alongside a wonderful group of people who also want to support our communities.
