About Lucy

Lucy grew up on a farm in North East Tasmania and now resides in a small rural community just outside of Launceston. She is an experienced director with over 10 years board experience and is a community and health professional and a leader in her field.

Lucy has a strong connection with community, and prioritises meaningful consultation and collaboration. Being proximate to social issues and ensuring that the views and opinions of members of the community are heard and acted upon has been the hallmark of Lucy’s career to date. The public good is always front and centre for Lucy, as she strongly believes there are many opportunities for organisations to ‘do good’ whilst they ‘do good business’.

As a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Lucy prioritises contemporary governance practices acts with integrity, has the ability to think critically, focuses strategically and is often praised for her communication style. Risk management, sound fiscal policy and a positive board culture have all been a focus for Lucy on the numerous boards and committees she has supported across Tasmania.

Lucy spent almost 20 years as a public servant with local government, state government and the university in various senior and leadership roles focusing on community improvement, but is now a small business owner of a company called Healthy Tasmania which works to improve individual, social and economic outcomes for Tasmanians. Lucy has been published in peer-reviewed literature and presented her research at international conferences and is well recognised for challenging the ‘status quo’.
